Spirit Airlines, Inc. (SAVE - Free Report) has launched services to Jamaica from Orlando, FL with the onset of spring. Additionally, the carrier has announced several domestic route expansions from Orlando.
The carrier began nonstop services to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica from Orlando International Airport on Feb 28. The flights are available four times a week. Nonstop flights connecting Orlando with Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica have commenced today. These flights are operating thrice weekly.
Apart from the international routes, the carrier started a daily year-round service between Austin, TX and Orlando on Feb 14. This low-cost Miramar, FL-based airline also introduced daily flights between Denver, CO and Orlando on Feb 28.
The carrier will initiate daily year-round operations connecting Indianapolis, IN and Raleigh-Durham, NC with Orlando beginning Mar 14 and May 2, respectively. Moreover, the airline will start services from Orlando to Charlotte, NC effective Jun 20.
With consistent expansion efforts, Spirit is anticipated to operate more than 50 departures a day from Orlando International Airport in 2019, nearly a double of what was operated two years ago. Following these new services, the company will offer nonstop flights from Orlando to 44 destinations across the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America, operating more than 50 daily flights.
